Ayra Starr spent the weekend of 10–11 October somewhere Afrobeats has rarely been: the halftime slot of an NFL game. The Mavin Records star performed at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London during the Philadelphia Eagles’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and YNaija described her as the first African artist to headline an NFL halftime show. We could not find a league statement confirming that “first,” so it remains YNaija’s claim.
On Monday 12 October, while clips from London were still circulating, she announced the Starrgirl World Tour: 20 cities across Europe, the UK and North America in early 2027, promoted by Live Nation, The FADER reported.
Starrgirl World Tour 2027: dates and tickets
The tour opens on 20 January at Live Music Hall in Cologne. It then visits Amsterdam’s Melkweg, Zénith Paris, Fabrique in Milan, X-tra in Zurich and Forest National in Brussels, and reaches Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on 2 February. The North American leg starts at House of Blues Houston on 18 March and runs through Atlanta, Brooklyn Paramount, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago and Denver, finishing at The Fillmore in San Francisco on 14 April. Before Europe, Starr will make what the announcement calls a “special return to Africa” at the end of this year. No details have been given yet.

Ticketing focused on her most engaged fans. In North America, presales ran through Verizon and Spotify’s top-fan programme, ahead of Live Nation general sale on 16 October. In Europe, Mastercard holders in France, Italy and Belgium could buy from 14 October, before general sale opened on 16 October.
The numbers behind the announcement
According to The FADER, Starrgirl, her third album, released on 14 August through Mavin and Republic Records, debuted at No. 2 on Spotify’s Global Top Albums chart and at No. 1 on Apple Music’s album charts in 15 countries. The video for “Heaven Baby” featuring ZAYN, directed by Earthboi, arrived on 5 October. Within a week it had passed 40 million global streams and reached No. 1 on Shazam’s Global Viral chart. This week the song is at No. 3 on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart.
Why the venue sizes matter
Look at the venues. Shepherd’s Bush Empire, House of Blues, the Fillmore and Brooklyn Paramount are mid-sized rooms, not arenas. That suggests a careful plan: sell out rooms of a few thousand, build demand and pricing power, then step up next time. If the NFL slot brought in even a small share of new listeners, the useful measure is not the halftime viewing figure. It is how quickly the North American dates sell out.
YNaija compared the booking to Bad Bunny’s NFL moment. For promoters and agents, the more practical point is that a Nigerian Afrobeats act was booked as the sole halftime headliner, not as a guest on someone else’s set. That makes the next booking of this kind easier to pitch.
A sports crowd is not automatically a music audience, though. Big broadcast moments produce a spike in streams, and turning that spike into regular listeners and ticket-buyers is what the tour has to do. The next details to watch are whether the “special return to Africa” is one December show or several dates, and which promoter on the continent gets the booking.
