Tayc The Voice France – La plus belle voix 2026 is official. The Cameroonian-French singer takes a red chair as the newest coach on Season 15 of The Voice France. The show premiered on TF1 on 28 February. He joins returning coaches Florent Pagny, Amel Bent, and Lara Fabian. This marks a significant moment for Afro-influenced music on one of Europe’s biggest talent platforms.

Who Is Tayc and Why This Tayc Voice France 2026 Role Matters

Born Julien Bouadjie Kamgang in Marseille to Cameroonian parents, Tayc built his career on a sound he calls Afrolove. It blends R&B, soul, and African rhythms into something that resonates across francophone markets and beyond. His album ‘Fleur Froide’ reached diamond certification in France. Tracks like ‘Le Temps’ and ‘N’y pense plus’ accumulated hundreds of millions of streams. Moreover, he filled the Accor Arena and Paris La Defence Arena. He also won Danse avec les Stars in 2021. That crossover appeal made him a natural choice for TF1.

Fellow coach Amel Bent said there will be a before and after Tayc on the programme. She described his approach as having an American energy. He stands, dances, and turns every audition into a performance. Furthermore, Florent Pagny praised his musical analysis as genuinely brilliant. For an artist whose roots stretch to Cameroon and whose sound draws from African rhythms, occupying that chair normalises African influence on mainstream French entertainment.

Secret Weapons and New Format Twists

Season 15 introduces new mechanics. Four bonus co-coaches join the main panel during blind auditions. Tayc’s co-coach is Kendji Girac, a former Voice Kids coach. Additionally, the season features a Secret Weapon — a hidden joker that can change audition outcomes. Each coach holds a unique tool. The Boomerang, for instance, lets a blocked coach send the block back and still turn their chair.

However, beyond format changes, Tayc’s cultural significance stands out. Afrobeats and African sounds continue shaping French pop and urban music. Having a Cameroonian-heritage artist coaching on primetime European TV normalises that influence further. Moreover, it gives aspiring contestants a mentor who understands cross-cultural dynamics intimately. Tune in — this season promises to be different.
