Clemzy: Bring D Hit — The Producer Behind Afrobeats’ Biggest Records

The Beats of Africa sits down with Clemzy — the Nigerian producer behind L.A.X’s ‘Gobe,’ ‘Sade,’ and the ‘Zaza Vibes’ album — in Lagos during Detty December 2025. In this exclusive conversation, Clemzy opens up about his creative partnership with L.A.X, recording sessions across Paris, Germany, and the US, his debut EP that is 90 per cent complete, and his transition from studio producer to live DJ. He also reveals his production signature — a distinctive drum swing that makes his records unmistakable — and reflects on what connects him to his roots: Igbo culture, jollof rice, and the music that raised him.
